Q: Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kickass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male?
I read a huge range of books, so I couldn't say they all featured something such as a particular style of heroine.
But, what I look for in books is a good storyline that is well thought-out and executed. Believable and well-rounded characters that I can get behind. Descriptive prose, good dialogue and that extra spark that makes a book stay in your mind well after you've turned the final page.
I completely agree. Just plain good storytelling makes all the difference. Reading to Penguins

I'm also an eclectic reader. But, I love fantasy so most of my favorite books have some sort of fantasy element in them.

Good writing, an interesting style, and something that's not the same old same old trumps over predictability any day. If the author can keep me guessing, so much the better.
ReplyDeleteHappy Follow Friday, Nicki!
Writing is the most important part. If the plot or style isn't well written, then it's not going to catch most people

I love a great dialogue! Some characters hardly communicate and I sometimes wonder how they can form relationships with each other when they don't even talk or share things.

I love having a nice storyline in a book! It can keep me interested. Dialogue's also something that I like, especially if it makes me laugh! New follower!
