Writing Plans 2015

So, we are already into the second month of 2015 and I thought it would be a good time to share with you all some information on my writing plans for the year ahead. I have a lot of releases coming up, which is really thrilling, and I hope this will be a positive year for me, both as a writer and in other aspects of my life, such as my freelance editing work. Anyway, without further ado, here is the low-down....

Writing as Nicki J Markus
(Mainstream works, suitable 16 yrs+)

Time Keepers
Following the closure of Silver Publishing, my rights for this work were returned to me. Given it is more difficult to find publishers for previously-released titles, I decided to re-publish this novella myself. It can out in January 2015 in both e-book and print, and you can find further information and links here.

The Ragnarök Chronicles
This is my beloved baby and its release is now just a few weeks ago. I have been working on this book since about June 2014. I originally conceived it as a trilogy, but it proved difficult to interest a publisher since it doesn't fit nicely into any of their categories. I therefore decided to self-publish as a single volume. You can read a brief synopsis here.

I am hoping to sign off on the final print proof within the week, and the book will then release in March 2015. I am organising a month-long promotion for the work with the lovely Alina at Eyes on Books, which will include a cover reveal event, a release day blitz and a two-week blog tour. I will have more information on these events later this month, so keep an eye on my blog and social media for all the details!

I am so excited for this release as this book is very personally important to me. I hope you will all enjoy reading it just as much as I loved writing it!

Day-Walker
Like Time Keepers, Day-Walker is another ex-Silver Publishing novella that I plan to re-release. This one is older than Time Keepers and I felt it could benefit from some amendments and additions. I am working on those as we speak, and my current hope is to publish (e-book and print) around June/July 2015. I'll keep you updated with news on that in the coming months.

Writing as Asta Idonea
(M/M works - explicit - 18yrs +)
Further information and links for all my Asta Idonea releases can be found here.

A Whale of a Time (A Likely Story Anthology)
My story 'A Whale of a Time' was included in the A Likely Story anthology, which was released from Wayward Ink Publishing in December 2014. It is available now in e-book and print format.

The Raider (single release)
My first ever M/M story, 'The Raider' (previously published in WIPs Stranded anthology in September 2014) is coming out as a single-story e-book on 12 February 2015. I will share buy links for that on release day, so keep your eyes peeled for those next week!

Angel in the Wings (Encore Anthology)
My story 'Angel in the Wings' is included in the WIP Encore anthology, coming out in March 2015. This is a collection of stories all inspired by famous musicals! Once again, more information of this anthology will be forthcoming in a few weeks' time.

A Twenty-First Century Demon/Hell to Pay
My most recent M/M piece is entitled 'A Twenty-First Century Demon' and I have submitted it for the WIP anthology Of Heaven and Hell, coming out in June 2015. I should hear whether it has been accepted in a few weeks' time, so fingers crossed.

In the meantime, I so loved the story and characters from this one that I decided to write a novella-length sequel entitled Hell to Pay. I am just about to start the second draft, and I hope to submit it to WIP for consideration by late March/early April.

Blogging Plans

Last year I was a little less 'present' on my blog than the previous years. This has mainly been because writing and editing has been keeping me busy. I hope to step things up a little again this year, but I'll see how I go. I will of course continue to bring you reviews of the books I'm reading, and information on my new releases (and any other drawings I complete or songs I record).

In addition to this, I am planning to write some blog posts on both writing and editing, looking at how I approach different aspects of these two tasks. I've already scheduled posts on my writing environment and how I go about creating my characters, but if there is anything else you'd like me to answer, please don't hesitate to leave me a comment. I am not going to establish a fixed schedule for these posts in case I can't meet a deadline, but I will slot a few in throughout the coming months, so keep a look-out! :)
