Celebrates the birth of show business, and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation. (IMDB Synopsis)

The Greatest Showman is a joyful extravaganza that heralds a return to form for the movie musical. While La La Land paved the way, The Greatest Showman fixes the problems that earlier film had by hiring proper singers and penning more memorable tunes. Okay, it has a few cheesy moments, but that's part of the genre. The cast members all give excellent performances and it's a wonderful feelgood show. I came out thinking I would definitely be getting the DVD, and perhaps the soundtrack too. If you enjoy musicals, this film is worth your time. 4.5 stars
