Where do you post your reviews besides your blog? Please list them all so perhaps we can find some new sites.
I post my reviews here on my blog and on Goodreads. I then link to the blog post on Facebook, Twitter and in Stories on Instagram. If it's a NetGalley read, or a direct review request, then I naturally also share the links with the publisher/author on NetGalley or via email.
Opening sentence:
They say dying makes you thirsty, so we always gave our marks one last drink.
From page 56:
The blue mist clung to our skin and clothing, ghostly fingers that left wet trails down our arms.
April Genevieve Tucholke
A dark and gorgeously drawn standalone YA fantasy about a band of mercenary girls in search of female glory. Won in a major six-house auction!
Frey, Ovie, Juniper, and Runa are the Boneless Mercies—girls hired to kill quickly, quietly, and mercifully. But Frey is weary of the death trade and, having been raised on the heroic sagas of her people, dreams of a bigger life.
When she hears of an unstoppable monster ravaging a nearby town, Frey decides this is the Mercies' one chance out. The fame and fortune of bringing down such a beast would ensure a new future for all the Mercies. In fact, her actions may change the story arc of women everywhere.
Full of fierce girls, bloodlust, tenuous alliances, and unapologetic quests for glory, this elegantly spun tale challenges the power of storytelling—and who gets to be the storyteller. Perfect for fans of Maggie Stiefvater, V.E. Schwab, and Heidi Heilig.

ReplyDeleteTo my understanding, six major publishing houses were bidding for the rights to publish the book.
DeleteThis might be a bit darker fantasy than I normally read, but I do like the excerpts. I'm featuring a YA fantasy book too at Girl Who Reads

DeleteLike you, I post my reviews on Goodreads, in addition to my blog. I also post them on Amazon. That's it, though. I don't have the time to post them anywhere else. I do post links to the reviews on Twitter, but haven't done so in a while.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're enjoying your read of "The Boneless Mercies"! I don't like books about assassins, whether male or female. However, I DO like the angle of girl power in this book! Just wish they weren't hired killers.... :(
Thanks for sharing, as well as for commenting on my BBH post!! Have a GREAT weekend!! <3 :)
Well, their kills aren't evil. They help people die who are sick etc. It's more like euthanasia.
DeleteHave a great end to the weekend.
