It's the weekend once more. That means it's time for my book-blogger hopping.
Do you take notes about the book you are reading as you read?
No, is the short answer. At least, not with fiction. If it's a non-fiction work and it references another book I'd like to check out, I'll jot down those details. But that's about it. Do you take notes about the book you are reading as you read?
Opening sentence:
Steve Rogers sits at his desk in the FBI's new office for the Chicago Department of Public Liaisons.
From page 56:
Loki's eyes flick to everyone around them. He looks suspiciously at the waitstaff and incoming patrons, like he's expecting something from them and is prepared to lash out at any moment.
My Current Read
Monsters: I Bring the Fire #2
C. Gockel
After being attacked by a serial killer, saved by Loki — so-called God of Mischief, Lies and Chaos — dragged to Alfheim, losing every cent in her bank account, and caring for her grandmother, Amy Lewis has lost her scholarship to veterinary school. But it’s alright. She has a plan. If she manages to keep her day job as a receptionist, and her night job as a vet tech, she may be able to get her scholarship reinstated and save enough money for the dreaded ‘miscellaneous fees.’
Too bad her day boss is unbearable...
Agent Steve Rogers has political aspirations, but when a suitcase nuke turns out to be something much worse and so-called Norse gods start showing up in his life, he has a priority shift.
Meanwhile, Loki’s priorities and plans haven’t changed at all. He wants Asgard to burn. Of course, earthly pleasures can be so distracting.
These three disparate characters have little in common, but they’ll have to join forces to save earth from trolls, wyrms, frost giant invasions, and an old evil growing beneath Chicago’s streets.
In this second volume of “I Bring the Fire,” chaos comes to our world and decides to stay. The nine realms will never be the same.
I don't take notes either.
ReplyDeleteYou had me with Loki. A character with that name promises mischief and fun! I added you to the linky. Happy weekend!
Thanks for adding me in. Ha, if you like Loki I should probably be trying to sell you on my own release--The Ragnarök Chronicles
DeleteLOL
I haven't heard of this one. It doesn't seem like it will stay hidden for long. Thanks also for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteIt a little self-pubbed series. It's not perfect, but it's entertaining enough.
DeleteThis sounds like a fun read! Hope you enjoy it! Have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashley; same to you.
DeleteI don't take notes as often as I should. My reviews are so much better when I take notes. I'm on the fence about this book. It isn't something I would typically pick up, but I do like the opening lines and the synopsis. See what book I'm featuring this week at Girl Who Reads
ReplyDeleteThanks Donna. It's amusing, but a few things in it irritate me.
DeleteNot my usual read, but I hope you are loving it. Thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurel. See you next week.
DeleteI think I may take too many notes sometimes lol! I just love writing down quotes!
ReplyDeleteHa. Yes, that is something I sometimes think I should do, as you do come across some great ones.
DeleteI don't take notes either.
