Do you review all of the books you read?
The quick answer to that is yes, at least on Goodreads.
The quick answer to that is yes, at least on Goodreads.
If it's a book I am reading for the first time, I will also post on my blog and share on social media (and with the publisher/NetGalley if appropriate).
However, if it's a reread (on the rare occasions I get time for those!) I will simply mark it on Goodreads, for my reading challenge, and not put up a whole new review on my blog etc.
Opening sentence:
Joost had two problems: the moon and his moustache.
From page 56:
Kaz had seen Heartrenders at work. They could rupture your cells, burst your heart in your chest, steal the breath from your lungs, or lower your pulse so that you dropped into a coma, all while never laying a finger on you.
Six of Crows
Leigh Bardugo
Criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker has been offered wealth beyond his wildest dreams. But to claim it, he'll have to pull off a seemingly impossible heist:
Break into the notorious Ice Court
(a military stronghold that has never been breached)
Retrieve a hostage
(who could unleash magical havoc on the world)
Survive long enough to collect his reward
(and spend it)
Kaz needs a crew desperate enough to take on this suicide mission and dangerous enough to get the job done - and he knows exactly who: six of the deadliest outcasts the city has to offer. Together, they just might be unstoppable - if they don't kill each other first.
ooh yes, I have this to read, only I bought a special edition and now I don't want to spoil it LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! Here is my Friday56 Instagram and Book Beginnings post. Have a good one :) x
I always do my best to keep books pristine, trying not to crease the spin or tear anything. Hope you'll manage it with yours.
DeleteA book I have wanted to read for a long time now.... :-) Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying it a lot, but it hasn't caught me quite as much as the Shadow and Bone trilogy so far.
DeleteI enjoyed this one. I hope you do too. This week I am featuring the best YA I've read so far this year - Past Perfect Life by Elizabeth Eulberg. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy. Yes, I am enjoying the story.
DeleteI am intrigued. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Laurel.
DeleteI hadn't thought about re-reads . . . I don't re-read often enough for it to really matter, I suppose. I do try to review all the books I read with a couple exceptions. I don't always review especially personal health related books (not that I read that many) and many of the books I read with my daughter. I only recently started keeping track of those as it is.
ReplyDeleteSix of Crows is on my TBR pile. I hope you are enjoying it!
Have a wonderful weekend!
I am liking it. Hope you do too when you get to it.
DeleteOh good point about the rereads! Those for me would depend on if I have posted a review for it yet :)
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly the same here. Often I have, but if not I'll post something.
DeleteI loved this book! Hope you're enjoying it! :)
ReplyDeleteI am, thanks, Ashley. I expect to finish it tonight. Then I'll start Crooked Kingdom.
