I hadn't read the original manga, so I came to Blue Period with no expectations. Overall I found it an enjoyable series. Yaguchi was a compelling character and I had fun following him on his journey into the world of art. As a keen amateur artist myself, I loved the way the series looked at different art concepts through the premise of Yaguchi attempting to get into art school. Most of the anime I watch has a fantasy theme, but this contemporary drama completely held my interest throughout and I would recommend it to anyone who loves art.
