Drive My Car was a beautiful and thoughtful movie. Although close to three hours long, it never felt dull or seemed to drag. Hidetoshi Nishijima gave a nuanced and captivating performance in the lead role and I enjoyed the cinematography and the way the film was shot. Also, the idea of the multilingual theatre performance that formed the backdrop of the story was fascinating and added a layer of depth to the idea of communication which is a major theme of the movie. It gets 5 stars from me.
