A man wakes up missing his memories. Directed by a mysterious voice from a device in his ear, he sets off on a hostage rescue mission rife with danger. (Synopsis)

Carter had a lot of potential. Though by no means completely original, the premise caught my interest when I saw it on Netflix, so I decided to give it a try. The action sequences were all high impact. Some of the shot choices weren't quite to my taste - a little too dizzying amid all the movement - but essentially all the stunts and special effects looked great. There were some issues with the plot, though, in that they tried to cram a lot in (including a zombie-like virus) and by the end I was left with more questions than answers, as they couldn't neatly tie up all the threads they'd introduced. However, if you like Bond, Bourne etc. then you'll probably enjoy this film as well. As a note for squeamish viewers, there is a lot of nudity and graphic violence, so keep that in mind as you go in. I am giving it 3.5 stars.
