I had high expectations for The Grimm Variations, but mostly I ended the series feeling let down. On the plus side, the Cinderella and Pied Piper of Hamlin episodes were enjoyable. A couple of the others had their moments, but on the whole they failed to fully capture my interest. There was a lot of promise in this idea, but it didn't quite manage to hit the mark with every retelling. Fans of dark, twisted fairy tale retellings would probably find something of interest here, but taken in its entirety the series only gets 3 stars from me.
