The process of excavating an ominous grave unleashes long hidden secrets and dreadful consequences buried underneath. (Synopsis)

Exhuma was an interesting supernatural horror movie with a focus on Korean folklore and shamanism. The story started quite slowly, but from the midway point the pacing increased dramatically. This was not an especially gory film given that dark lighting obscured many of the more violent moments, but it did get quite intense towards the end. The cast all gave excellent performances and, despite the slower start, I actually thought the pacing worked well with that gradually build of momentum. I watched it on the flight over and my husband watched it on the way back, and I even found myself glancing at his screen, rewatching bits when it was his turn, so I liked it enough for a second viewing. As such, I am giving it 4.5 stars.
