I had enjoyed Afterlife, so I was excited to see what Frozen Empire had to offer. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the standard of its predecessor. There were some good moments and fun VFX, but the underlying story didn't quite work. I think there was just too much going on, so we couldn't get deep enough into any of the plot points. In particular the 'villain' of the piece was too underdeveloped and never felt like much of a threat. Trimming some of the subplots and secondary characters and focusing more on the main plot would have really helped this film a lot. As such, I can only give it 3 stars. It was entertaining enough for a single watch to pass time on the flight, but it did have a lot of issues.
