I was not familiar with the light novels on which My Happy Marriage is based; therefore, I came to the anime with no expectations. It turned out to be a delightful and hopeful tale of a young woman who slowly comes into her own after escaping a horrible family situation and moving into the home of her fiancé. The relationship between Miyo and Kiyoka progressed in a way that felt believable throughout and the pacing through the episodes was good. The animation was nicely done too, especially in the supernatural fight scenes. I will certainly watch S2 when it releases. I am giving S1 4.5 stars.
