Love Game in Eastern Fantasy started strongly. I enjoyed the premise and the characters and was ready to get behind the storyline. Esther Yu's acting was a little over the top for my preferences at the start. However, I felt the same way about her in Love Between Fairy and Devil, and, as in that earlier series, she did settle down into more a more realistic performance as the episodes progressed. She can act; I am just unsure why she always hams things up at the start. But perhaps it's more the director's choice than hers. As I said, it was a strong start and I liked the early progression of the characters and their relationships. However, I found the ending a bit lacklustre and contrived after all the build-up. In the end I am giving this series 4 stars. It was enjoyable and entertaining, but it wasn't quite on par with Love Between Fairy and Devil for me.
