Best book and/or series that you’ve read in 2024
I finally read Babel by R F Kuang, and that one really stuck with me all year. It definitely deserved the hype.
Authors that you’ve recently found and would like to read more of in the new year
I loved This Monster of Mine by Shalini Abeysekara. This was a romantasy where the erotic didn’t overtake story and character development. I’d definitely like to read more from this author in the future.
Most anticipated book turned movie/tv show?
Although I know it’s not going to be a direct adaptation of the book, I am intrigued to see Guillermo del Toro’s take on Frankenstein. His works are always so visually stunning and creative.
Name a character that you wouldn’t mind sharing a kiss with at midnight (if there is one)
There are so many it’s hard to pick (don’t tell my husband), but I think I’ll go with the Winter King from Katherine Arden’s Winternight trilogy.
What’s on you TBR for 2025?
- Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V. E. Schwab
- Katabasis by R F Kuang
These two are definitely on my radar, but I will also be continuing several ongoing danmei series and starting a couple of new ones.
How many books do you hope to read in 2025?
I will start my goal at 160 as usual, but I may end up putting it up as I did this year.
Will you participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge or any others?
Yes, I do the Goodreads Challenge every year.
Any New Year’s Resolutions? (bookish or otherwise)
As usual, I want to try to improve my health and fitness. I also have a number of goals related to my foreign language studies.
