TV Review: Mad Dog (2017) (Crime Drama)

Mad Dog (๋งค๋“œ๋…)

M
Crime Drama
Netflix

After losing his family in a tragedy, a former detective joins hands with a brilliant swindler to hunt down ugly truths and expose insurance crimes.

Mad Dog was a series I chose to watch mostly because I fancied a change of pace and something darker after seeing a few more romantic and slice-of-life shows. In the end, though, I enjoyed it. It took me three or four episodes to truly get into the story and characters, but then I was hooked. I loved the found-family vibe of the team and the action-packed episodes. The story had a few twists along the way which kept things interesting, and the ending was satisfying. There were a couple of light romance moments along the way, but the show was predominantly a crime drama/thriller. I did like the small appearance, too, of Park Sung-hoon, who is an actor I liked a lot in other series. I am giving this series 4 stars.
